The Windsor Malayalee Association (WMA) is a non-profit, community-based organization that has been serving the Malayalee community in Windsor for over 28 years. WMA is dedicated to promoting cultural heritage, fostering unity, and supporting community engagement through social, cultural, and charitable initiatives.
The association provides a platform for members to connect, celebrate traditions, and contribute positively to the broader Windsor community. Through events, programs, and outreach activities, WMA strives to preserve Kerala’s rich cultural values while encouraging inclusivity, leadership, and volunteerism.
WMA operates as a registered non-profit organization and is committed to transparency, good governance, and community service.

Uniting Community Through Sport
The Windsor Malayalee Association (WMA) successfully hosted its inaugural Community Grand Badminton Tournament on Saturday, bringing together players and families from across the Windsor-Essex region in a vibrant celebration of sport, unity, and cultural connection.
The tournament saw an enthusiastic participation of 29 doubles teams, along with over 100 spectators, creating an energetic and engaging atmosphere at the RCIC. The event marked a significant milestone for WMA, reflecting the organization’s growing commitment to promoting active lifestyles and strengthening community bonds.

In Men’s Doubles Pool A, Mirza and Roshan claimed the championship along with a $750 cash prize, while Salim Noorudeen and Aby Thomas of Chatham secured second place with $500.
In Men’s Doubles Pool B, the first prize went to Shifin Samuel and Robin Joseph of Windsor, earning $400, with Varun Jayanth and Siva Rajeev of Leamington, finishing as runners-up and receiving $200.
In the Women’s Doubles category, Afnan Nissam and Shinu Kukkadi of Chatham emerged as champions, taking home $500, while Dimple Joseph and Dayana Michael of Windsor finished second, with cash award of $250.
Beyond the competition, the event highlighted strong community support and collaboration. WMA acknowledged its sponsors, including iDesi Chowrastha Restaurant, Ish Poojari Realtor, India Paradise Restaurant, Saya Homes Ltd, Ayam Zaman, PJ’s Quick Mart, Car Dude Detailing, and Culture Crust, for making the event possible.
